Down With the Sickness
Get up, come on!

After reaching the surface Tirami fell ill due to his injuries, but the disease was unknown. We headed for The Bent Arrow where Svenir and Roaran have friends/family and equipment and a place to sleep.

No one at the inn could identify Tirami's illness, and his condition worsened throughout the night. Meanwhile, Aronal had cryptic dream that contained a warning that Tirami must not die. We set out as soon as possible to find a reclusive mystic, Ceelena, that Svenir and Roaran were loosely acquainted with.

Ceelena, however, had always contacted Svenir and Roaran, so they did not know how to get a hold of her. While traveling to where we might find Ceelena, we saw a party of orcs and a few others marching into town.

We ended up camping in a copse of trees where some foot prints ended, because we needed Ceelena to contact us. The night was not uneventful; we were watched by a large cat-like creature and an owl. The animals did not appear to threaten us, but rather acted very strangely.

In the morning with the courge that day-light brought we tested the reactions of the animals and surmised that the cat-creature wanted us to follow it. Roaran scouted ahead, following the creature straight to Ceelena's magical home within a tree.

Svenir and Roaran made a deal with Ceelena in exchange for healing Tirami, so they now owe her a favor 3 full moons from then. After leaving Tirami with Ceelena, we decided to start on the path westward toward the first location given to Giovanni and Aronal by their patron True-Wrym.

After a day of travel, they encountered the same orc party leaving the town with prisoners, one of which Svenir and Roaran know personally. The strength of the other party, however seems too great to make an attempt at a rescue.

Continuing to track the orc party we continued along the same direction and made camp that night. Roaran scouted the orc party again during the night and even then the risk was too great to attempt a rescue.

The next day we continued westward and encountered what seemed to be the leader of the party, "The Thin Man"and his beast heading north apart from the orcs and prisoners. The opportunity for a rescue attempt is now at hand.

Escape from Martial Law
Orcs, and Rats, and Spiders! Oh, My!

We all happened to be at the Wild Boar when the Confessor announced Martial Law over the town. Most of us either had no means to make a living within the town walls, or had urgent business out of town. After deciding to band together to find a way out, we concluded that the sewer system would be the easiest way.

We found a grate in the side of a building that appeared to be the best entrance to the sewer system, but we needed to get inside the building. We picked the lock early the next morning and easily gained entrance without causing any commotion until the rats escaped through the open door. Whoops!

Being careful to close doors behind us, we found our way into a series of ancient underground passages. All of the ancient iconography had been vandalized to an unrecognizable state. We were soon followed by what sounded like a band of orcs, but we managed to out run them. The orcs were fortunately attacked by something that we ran right past.

We fought several giant rats and recovered some simple weaponry. Going further into the caves that followed we encountered a giant spider, but we managed to distract it with the corpse of a surviving orc who managed to catch up to us only to be slaughtered. Burning our way through webs and navigating several passages lead us to an ancient dwarven elevator. Managing to not break the elevator by taking turns going up, we broke our way through to the surface.
